Trip to the mountians

It rained earlier this month. Enough for us to shut off the sprinklers and go camping. Now, I haven't been camping since i was 15 years old. I was determined to be trooper and enjoy myself. We decided to camp by Leadville. Only 9500 feet above sea level. The first day and night was so enjoyable. We fished a lovely reservoir and set up camp. The first night we feasted on steak and potatoes. Also I enjoyed two very good smores. During the night it dropped in temp and the little creatures came out to claw at our tent. It also snowed two inches.

Once I opened the tent and saw the snow I was done. The wind had picked up and blew all day long. I thought we had come to mountains to escape the wind. I know so little. I refused to be a burden and kept my mouth shut just stayed in the pickup all day long. I am very proud of myself for not complaining. My husband enjoyed a fun filled day of fishing. The night was very very cold and the little creatures came out again to claw at the tent.

The morning we left to Glenwood Springs it was beautiful out again. Thank god for that because packing up was relatively easy. We found our hotel in Glenwood and I took at a very long shower. My pregnant body just isn't made for roughing it. Too say the least I was exhausted.

The next day we headed to Meeker. Meeker is on the other side of the mountains, westward. It was really interesting to see a different part of colorado. There are so many wild flowers . We stayed with some great friends, Rocky and Sparky. Dustin caught many fish and shot many squirrels.

More Farmers Market

Farmers Market

We visited a farmers market on my last day in Bend. By far my favorite experience during the whole trip. The colors are so incredibly vibrant. Fruit, vegetables, and flowers have such great shapes. It was really fun to photograph.

Trip to Bend, Oregon

Wild Columbine
I have been remiss in my blogging. June has been such a busy month. Dustin and I took a camping trip to Leadville and stayed with friends in meeker. I have some great pics, which I have yet to post. Be patient it will happen.
I just flew back from Bend, Oregon. I had not seen my best friend, Justina, in 9 months. Way too long! Bend is so similar to Colorado. Same climate and weather as the Colorado mountains. Had a beautiful and relaxing time. We ate and shopped. My kind of vacation. However, I did include a little bit of nature.

Grape leaves on our garden fence

Dustin and I just finished mowing. It ONLY takes a little over 4 hours ( w/ two mowers). I especially take my time now that I am 19 week pregnant. Our place looks so crisp and clean once were done. It is always worth the time.

My garden is growing nicely. I had to replant the lettuce. We seem to have a late spring. The grapes are greening up. They are by far my favorite plant. They do so well out here, which suprises me. In the photo you can see the little baby grapes forming.
